NOTE ON THE TERM PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL AS A SYNONYM FOR LONG-LASTING HAIR GROWTH REDUCTION
To date, there is no legal definition of the widely used term “permanent hair removal”.We define permanent hair removal as the sustained change in hair growth over time with longer lasting hair-free skin and reduced hair regrowth with fewer hairs. Permanent hair removal is achieved through a professional depilation/epilation procedure that changes the growth basis of the hair follicles over time. However, the term “permanent hair removal” should not be taken to mean that the hair will never grow back. The effect or the long-term effect of the permanent hair removal by means of epilation procedure depends on the different genetic disposition and the hormonal balance of the individual person as well as other factors. Therefore, certain statements about the number of treatments required or the period of time in which the hair in the treated area is reduced or removed cannot be generalized. Due to the natural hair growth cycle, it is not to be expected to get a 100% hair-free skin/treatment. Experience has shown that completely new hairs form again over time and may require follow-up treatments.
